I have found that I enjoy driving in Sport mode rather than Auto mode, and lately, I have just automatically push the Sport button whenever I start driving. I am however concerned about stressing the QL system on my Overland, since Sport mode lowers the body. I have had no problems thus far (4000 miles), but I was just wondering if anybody else is hooked on Sport mode? It would be nice if there was a default setting for Sport mode. (sorry if this topic has been covered many times before).
I use sport mode almost exclusively in city driving here in Jacksonville. I think it actually puts less stress on the QL because my Jeep is not constantly going from normal to aero ride height as my speeds vary during my daily drive. In sport mode it stays in aero mode the entire trip. I don't really feel a difference in performance , but I don't use auto that much and I generally don't have a heavy right foot.
Sorry, my mistake. There is no Sport mode button. You just turn the knob. Guess I was thinking about my Toyota Prius which has a "Power" button, which I also press all the time.
In sport mode 99.999% of the time the vehicle is in forward motion except when towing. You aren't going to stress anything regardless the mode so pick the mode you like and enjoy.
My Laredo has no QL but the first thing I do is switch to sport mode. Shifting is much better, I would think fuel economy would be best in this mode. Shame it can't default to sport when you kick her in the guts.
