I didnt think the sprt mode or any mode changed tranny settings at all. Ive never read this and cannot feel this in my v8 overland. Doesnt change suspension either except ht... Pretty much pointless, really... But i still play with it sometimes.

The trans in all settings seems to allow near redline shift points when driving really hard. But not just in spfort mode.

I also dont care for the manual shifting as it only prevents upshifts, it cant shift up early.
On my Overland V8, when in Sport Mode, the transmission does make part throttle downshifts much faster using less throttle travel than in Normal Mode. I like it.

Re: Sports Mode?

The dealer told me that Sport mode also changes the amount of power ratio to front vs back. In sport it is 30% Front and 70% rear. Auto is 45F 55R or something close to that.

Re: Sports Mode?

If the shift points change like you folks say, why doesnt jeep ever mention that?

Thats what several have posted here, for in town stop and go type driving only. Sport mode holding the gear a little longer on the up shift appears to save some fuel by avoiding fuel wasting in/out OD and MDS shifting.

Jeep doesn't mention a lot of things... but I did read that somewhere either in the manual or on the jeep site.
