SRT sway bar Question

I know the rear sway bar will make a noticeable difference as it is thicker than mine on the limited but the questions is the difference of the front bar. From what I have read, it is the same thickness but may be stiffer. I am just wondering if it is worth the additional approx. $250 to do the front too?

Re: SRT sway bar Question

The most noticeable difference of swapping just the rear is likely to be a lot of understeer. Swaybars should, for all intents and purposes, be considered a matched set. Therefore if the front stock swaybar is not as stiff, changing only the rear will likely cause undesireable characteristics.

Re: SRT sway bar Question

I only found one person who changed just the rear (on a wk not a wk2) and they said the car understeered badly until they swapped the front too. That is why i did them together on mine.

Always do them in pairs since the difference in stiffness will cause the car to be unbalanced.. srt sways bars are solid while the non ones are hollow inside. Dont know about the 2011+ but 05 to 10 are like this. Best of luck.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I ended up ordering both front and rear with srt end links.

I received the front sway bar yesterday and couldn't wait to install to just see the difference when just replacing that and not the rear. They look exactly the same but srt is slightly heavier and appears to be a bit shorter in length. I can tell you that the srt front end links are shorter and beefier than the stock ones. First drive was a noticeable difference in steering response and a decent improvement in front end stability around corner. It makes the rear feel more loose so looking forward to getting that on Monday.
