Sorry to be bringer of bad news. I was hoping it would be an upgrade.

With the WK the different was that the srt bar was solid while the wk bar was hallow. Possibly the same situation applies here

Possible that one or more of the following is true:
1. One is hollow and the other is solid.
2. They are made of different material.
3. The links are mounted closer to the axis of the bar.

It could also be that the SRT is only a few MM thicker and you can't see it with the naked eye. I'd bet the links are closer to the axis, especially if the links themselves are different.

Re: SRT sway bars.

All valid points, just saying might be worth waiting for a significant upgrade, which will be released eventually vs purchasing a all new SRT8 sway bar kit. I'm waiting for the aftermarket kit that bolts straight on which would be the same cost as replacing it with the SRT8 OEM, if it even would fit or make a difference.

Scott - if you can look up the part numbers, then maybe you could check the adjacent parts. The idea being that as you work from part to adjacent part, eventually the part numbers will be the same. My guess is the bar, bushings, and links are different but not the A arms and subframes.

Re: SRT sway bars.

Sweet! So we just need the part numbers for the bar (bushings are integrated) and links and we're all set. If I can get the front bar and links for under $300 I might give it a try.

Rear bar: http://www.justforjeeps.com/20srreswbar.html

Front bar: http://www.justforjeeps.com/20srfrswbar.html

From past experience on cars.....you'll want to try the rear bar first. Stiffer rear bar will help it rotate.

When trying to get a car to handle, I agree - especially with FWD. Most cars understeer and a rear bar can help dramatically. IMO, the Jeep doesn't have too big of a problem rotating especially in white stuff. Besides, I won't be sliding the Jeep around much. My goal is to make the steering a bit sharper and reduce roll somewhat - especially roll on corner entry. A front bar should do nicely.

True. No white stuff in Texas and most likely I'll install both bars.

On my Audi (all wheel drive) I installed the RS4 rear bar and it helped a lot.....on the other hand my Rx7 I removed the rear bar for auto x duty.
