Stacking lifts?

So I'm not all that mechanically blessed and don't know much about suspensions never the less my question is would I be able to stick the rro lift with the Dobson springs along with Bwoody links? or would this cause too much stress on certain parts? If this is recommended I plan on doing it in June or July of 2013. The Army is sending my family and I to Alaska this will be my second time there but I just want to be better prepared. I'm Savin up right now I would like to run 35's but would be just fine with 33's

Re: Stacking lifts?

Unlike many other vehicles, WKs lifts are more for looks than function. You quickly run out of suspension rebound. Some here are even removing their lifts as it just does not add more off road performance than it detracts from. I've read that those big tires are tough to balance well enough for the sensitive WK2 suspension. You would be better off with tires optimum for the kind of driving you will be doing that fit well. Unless you do much sand, the OEM size seems to be wide.

Re: Stacking lifts?

I wondered that same thing and here's the response i received from another Jeep forum regarding stacking the Dobinsons and RRO leveling kit.

"The angles on the front drive shaft & CVs will be too steep. I know because I've tried something similar stacking RRO with Tuff country 1.75" leveling kit, it looked legit though! But got pops & clicks were experienced when the mechanics test drove it, took it out immediately after that."

Hold your horses. This is quoted from the other jeep forum. Maybe do a search over there for "custom lift" and see if there's any updates.

"I recently got a rro leveling kit put on my jeep at Jeff Daniels Jeeps in Harleysville PA. 45 mins outside philly. Anyway, when my jeep was there, a man with the company Jeepin By Al saw my wk2 and loved it. He wants to fabricate a custom 3 inch coil suspension prototype for my wk2 and depending on how that goes, put it into production. The best part is that it will cost me nothing. I am just concerned about potential problems. It wont be until the end of december or January. We'll see. "
