Staggered wheel setup bad for 4wd?

Does a AWD/4WD vehicle need to have the same wheel width on all 4 corners? Haven't I seen staggered wheel setups for AWD/4WD cars or trucks? Is this somehow bad? Thanks in advance.

Re: Staggered wheel setup bad for 4wd?

Overall wheel and tyre diameter needs to be the same on all 4 corners, but width doesnt necessarilly need to be.

Re: Staggered wheel setup bad for 4wd?

I had the staggered set up on my old WK. It was fine.

Makes it tough when it comes time to rotate tires though.
