Steering wheel out of alignment

I noticed that my steering wheel doesnt seem to be centered or leveled. Ive been noticing it for atleast a month now but finally contacted the dealership about it today (been flying a lot for work).

Some of you might remember my tire fiasco from a couple months ago (Link: Best Tire for the Asphalt Loving Jeep )

Is there anything specific I should be asking them to do or to look at? Ive probably driven 1000 miles with this issue.

Re: Steering wheel out of alignment

Need alignment to straighten steering wheel. My 2014 was that way from factory. Common issue for GC.

Re: Steering wheel out of alignment

My 2015 was that way when I bought it with 8 miles on it. I ironically snapped this pic before I knew I had the problem ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1462234253.345601.jpg an alignment under warranty fixed it. It's a common issue.

Steering wheel out of alignment

Should a vehicle track straight at 80 mph? Or is that expecting too much? My steering wheel is straight, but if I let go of it, it doesn't take but a couple seconds and the Jeep pulls to the right gradually. Does an alignment fix that issue too?

Most highways are crowned, so gravity pulls you down towards the berm. But an alignment check is never wasted.

Mine still pulls to left at 80.. It pulled to the left when it was new but got the alignment. Maybe I need another alignment.

Re: Steering wheel out of alignment

I noticed this on my 15 as well, its maybe a degree off towards 11 oclock and it drives me nuts!! Here's the thing tho, when I had my lift put on an alignment is part of the process but it didn't really go away..its so slight but I know its there. Now I am concerned that dealer will back out of correcting the issue due to the lift and potential voiding of warranty. Thoughts?

Do you have a independent shop where you live? If so a custom alignment is worth paying for? I paid $85.00 for mine.

Ya, probably best to have my shop do it and avoid the aggravation of dealing with a reluctant dealer. Just thought I could have em do it gratis when I bring in for oil/lube.
