#2 - For better 'anti-flex' functionality the strut tower bar should also tie into the firewall. Just look up any 'truss' type bridge or other object. Triangles provide high strength. So triangulating the 'bar' from the towers to the firewall would provide MUCH more strength and rigidity.

I agree, HOWEVER, there is then the concern of a rigidly attached brace attaching to the firewall, possibly creating a chance of cracking the windshield, due to "fore/aft" flex.
I had a '96 Camaro for 19 years, and I added a 3 point STB to the car when it was a couple of years old. Although I didn't have it happen, I read on a couple of the forums where there were reports of cracked windshields,,,
