Its easy enough to determine anyone can take them to a professional wheel shop(not the bozos at the dealer) like i did to have them worked on or looked at. Or if you got an old bent one sitting around (god knows they bend easy enough lol) take a little sand paper to it and see what you get. I did this on an old one to practice after watching and paying the wheel shop for the repair, going forward minor gouges i will handle myself. Its not as if uncoated alloy wheels are some rarity, they are all over the market place. My last 2 cars did have coated alloy rims and by year 4 or 5 they were both failing in spots, car wash wheel brushes are hard on coated. These uncoated summit ones are far more car wash friendly and will stand the test of time better. Now i just need to get them to stop bending, two replaced for bending so far. $310 for the 7 year mopar wheel policy is a bargin lol

Guy at the wheel shop just called it untreated polished or something like that while I watched him sand out the gouges then work through different types of polishes looked perfect when he was done. Amazing how fast they work through it.
Even though I know I checked for clear coat a couple years ago, I went and checked them again. Sure enough, using Nevr-Dull, nothing came off the wheel. When I used that Nevr-Dull on a recent motorcycle that I know had uncoated aluminum wheels, the wadding material would turn black quickly.

Yeah now that we are off of our 3/36 warranty hopefully they are not going to go to pieces lol. Water pump is the one thing I'm kind of keeping an eye out on, I keep seeing people needing to replace those early on these v8. My summit has been pretty good after I got the bugs worked out over the first year. Crossing fingers it continues
