Suspension bang when off road. Beach/sand conditions

Anybody have issues with suspension banging when off road. I have an overland summit that I took onto the beach for the first time yesterday. I lowered my tire pressure to 15 and drove on the beach and around the dunes for about 20 miles. Whenever I hit any bumps it sounded and felt like the suspension was banging. I first thought that it was the low profile wheels on the overland compressing and that the bang was the rim hitting the bump, but I figured it could also be the suspension. Thoughts? Thx!

What month was your car built? has it had the intermediate steering shaft replaced? If it is one of the good batches i understand it should have a green dot on it.

Re: Suspension bang when off road. Beach/sand conditions

What selec terrain setting were you on? Sand should put you at OR1 height. I haven't read about the suspension hitting the stops at this level. If you override the height setting and go to OR2, you will hear banging at any decent speed. It appears or2 is only for serious rock trails at very low speed.

Noisy suspension in ORII?
