So from what I can read I need to worry some about the upper arm joints. This leaves me with a couple questions I have below:

1) I want to try and run the 265/70/18 which is 32.6" tall and 10.7" wide. Has anyone tried this tire?

2) I will probably be trying to run the tire on an OEM set of the 18" Stock ORA2 wheels. Will there be enough clearance with these wheels or should I be looking aftermarket to get a different off-set?

3) Lastly, what is the opinion between LT and P tires? I am looking at Toyo AT2's and between P and LT is 1.5lbs/tire. So weight isn't an issue, just wondering what people have had the best results with. I know on my LR4 I had P tires and sliced one very quickly off-road where my LT DuraTrac's on my JKUR never had an issue.

This set of wheels and tires will only be used when going off-roading. So, not full time set-up as I will use the stock 20's when going on trips.
Just did it!

Mopar Steel Wheels with Cooper AT3's LT265/70/18

Fit perfect, plenty of space between the control arm/bolt, no rubbing in any position on QL. It looks tight, but even in park mode over curbing in my drive way no rubbing.

Sorry for the poor pictures, but this at normal setting.

Mind taking a picture during the day? These are the exact tires I was thinking of running!

Took these today. Ride's so much better than the 20's

Still no issues, even drove up a curb to test it.

Very happy right now.

These are Mopar Winter/Off-road wheels also the spare. 18x8 54? Offset (same as factory 18" alloys)

Only downside, no hub covers. Going to come up with something to protect the threads.

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

Sorry to ask this but can you actually get a 17" rim on a 2014 GC? All the dealers keep telling me that it can't fit on because the calipers will hit the wheel. Philosoghee, can you shed any light on this? Thanks

The 2014 V6 Laredo's come stock with 17's.

ie: 17" JGC WK2 2014 Wheels on Ebay

If you have HD brakes > the V8, they will not fit because the brakes are larger.

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

yes exactly what Pinetar said above. 17's fit on the v6 for sure but for the v8 most likely not (if you have the bigger brakes), which all the v8's appear to have as far as I can tell.

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

Thanks for the info gents, but mine is an Australian Overland 3.0 diesel Here's the best part, apparently the base Laredo is supposed to have smaller brakes because they get a smaller engine in the US? I guess I just want to find out if the non Laredo models can carry the 17" rims. Thanks for your help too

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

So I found this picture of a 2014 overland 4x4 eco diesel with the stock 18 inch rims and from the looks of it I'm just not thinking there is enough room to fit 17 inch rims over those calipers. But I mean honestly just to be sure, if I were you I'd just measure the diameter across of the rotor and caliper together on your jeep and then measure the diameter of the inside of the 17 inch rims you are considering putting on (assuming of course you happen to have a set of the 17s in person to measure)ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1415661258.042251.jpg

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

Unfortunately I haven't got the rims yep. The car will be here by Xmas and I've already got 5 x BFG KM2-0 - 265/70R17 new from my previous ride.
I looked at the same Laredo calipers at the dealers, but it looks too close to guess.

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

So don't know if this helps any but the 2014 eco diesel trail hawk concept does have the 17 inch Rubicon wheels.. (But that whole vehicle is pretty heavily modified so they could have modified the brakes to fit them, I just don't know)ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1415997717.786487.jpg
