I'm sure they added spacers to that setup, which is a possible solution for you, Ravster.

I would LOVE to get pictures\drawings of what was done with the wheel wells on that ride! If anyone ever sees this truck on the flesh, PLEASE get some detail pictures!

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

Awesome news! Thanks Philosoghee. I doubt they would have reduced the brake/calipers size so I think they will fit 😊.
Pinetar, they don't let us use wheel spacers in Oz so my next project is to find some wheels with the correct offset. I don't suppose anyone knows the standard GC offset? Some info says +50mm and others say 0mm??? Ideally the standard Laredo 17" wheels would be great but we don't get that option in Oz😞.

So from what I can read I need to worry some about the upper arm joints. This leaves me with a couple questions I have below:

1) I want to try and run the 265/70/18 which is 32.6" tall and 10.7" wide. Has anyone tried this tire?

2) I will probably be trying to run the tire on an OEM set of the 18" Stock ORA2 wheels. Will there be enough clearance with these wheels or should I be looking aftermarket to get a different off-set?

3) Lastly, what is the opinion between LT and P tires? I am looking at Toyo AT2's and between P and LT is 1.5lbs/tire. So weight isn't an issue, just wondering what people have had the best results with. I know on my LR4 I had P tires and sliced one very quickly off-road where my LT DuraTrac's on my JKUR never had an issue.

This set of wheels and tires will only be used when going off-roading. So, not full time set-up as I will use the stock 20's when going on trips.

A little late to the party but here goes!

I am close to pulling the trigger on a set of p265/70r18 terra grappler on stock jk wheels and wanted to know if you had any rubbing at stock ride height. I have an E group (no airbags) so wantedto know if you needed leveling kit or lift to run them

Took these today. Ride's so much better than the 20's

Still no issues, even drove up a curb to test it.

Very happy right now.

Hi Lygriek,

Do you carry the same size wheel and rim as a spare? Do you keep this in the spare wheel well?

Re: Taller Tire Option..... 265/70/18?

I started a post regarding the HD brakes that are standard on the V8 and CRD.
What are HD brakes?

Apparently, the V6's get 338mm front rotors, and the V8 and diesels get 350mm front rotors. The calipers are the same, but have different mounting brackets. So I doubt the 17" rims will fit, unless you have a V6.

Rim/wheel size is irrelevant. The tire diameter of the spare MUST match the tires on the four corners to avoid damage to the 4WD system when running the spare. It can be narrower so it fits under the cargo lid as the OEM full size spare is.

Here's my 14 Eco with 255\70 18 on JK Sahara rims, no clearance issues in low (park) or high (or2) setting.. Spare is the same size on a jk wheel, fits in the tire well, you just lose the bins..

YMMV

Great pic! I like the Sahara 18's. They add more style to the GC.

One could run 275/65R18's as they are the same size, but the 255s are narrower, and fit in the spare well with the lid closed(I know - that's what I've done).
