TCM PCM Flashed

I brought my Overland V8 in for it's first oil change and flash. I too had a shudder when shifting. They flashed the transmission? And powertrain modules and now it runs And shifts great! Maybe more power too? Could this be all in my mind? How can hooking a car up to a computer for an update do such wonderful things? Thoughts?

The computer controls the transmission and makes the decision about when to shift. In fact, the computer controls most of the car - it's a "drive-by-wire" system.

Re: TCM PCM Flashed

I just had mine done yesterday and I'm not sure I'm any better off. I was hesitant to do it since mine drove fine except for the occasional "knock" when the MDS kicks in. It's too soon for me to know if that's corrected since it was intermittent BUT now as soon as the accelerator is released I sometimes get a jerky feeling from the transmission. ???
Anyway, I'll see how it goes. I know I can't go back to the previous firmware. I'm heading over to Detroit in the morning (to hunt for SRT's) so I'll get a better feeling for it on a long run.

Re: TCM PCM Flashed

I had mine done and i still notice the shudder. Still at 40-60 mph and 1500 rpm with slight push on the gas pedal. Anyone else still notice?

I haven't had anything done with mine yet, as I've had no problems -- but on mine that "jerky feeling" when you let go of the accelerator is the transmission downshifting to help slow you down. It doesn't tell you it is doing that, it just does it.
