Terra Grappler G2 tires 285/60/18 don't fit

I have a 2014 Limited 4X4 EcoDiesel with ORAII. I talked to a few members that are running this size, but not on the factory 18's. Americas Tire did a test fit and the fronts rubbed. I ordered another set in 265/60/18 and will install next week. Just thought I should pass on the info.

I run the OEM 18's from the ORAII package.

I didn't ask. The tech came out and said they rubbed significantly.

Re: Terra Grappler G2 tires 285/60/18 don't fit

Put on the new wheels and tires today and they fit perfectly. Wheels are Vision Raptors size 18 X 9.5 with a 25 offset. Tires are Nitto Terra Grappler G2 size 285/60/18. They fit with out any modifications and no rubs in any height. They do stick out a little but not bad, going to have to make some mud flaps to keep the crap off of the sides though. Also who said they didnt make a GC trailhawk for 2015, I ordered the hood graffic from jeep and had the dealer put it on.

Re: Terra Grappler G2 tires 285/60/18 don't fit

any more opinions on this tire size / rim offset?

I like the tires to be a little wider than the stockers, plus helps when aired down in the soft sand out here

Re: Terra Grappler G2 tires 285/60/18 don't fit

I've ordered this wheel http://www.summitracing.com/parts/twg-3190-8873c
40 offset should move the wheel out a little over 1/2". The tire is close to an inch wider than stock (1/2" per side of wheel) so the 40 offset will put the inner sidewall of the tire about two tents of an inch further away from the control arm than stock, while moving the outer sidewall of the tire about an inch total closer to the wheel openings. (1/2 wheel offset + 1/2 additional sidewall depth, total one inch movement to outside). I will run 285/60/18 in either the Nitto Terra Grapplers or the Cooper Zeon.
When I was contemplating and measuring for 285/60/18 on the stock wheels it looked like the closest possible contact point was the control arm, but I felt it would just clear. I guess I was wrong if yours didn't fit. A 3/4" spacer would also have done the trick.

Why not go with a 275 instead?
