Re: The new tires are on!

The tires look great! I would also like to know if they rub in park mode. And I assume these tires have a larger diameter than the OEM spare tire. So, if you had to run with the spare, would this be a problem for the 4WD system?

If you look in the first post there is a picture and a caption that states lowered to "park" height and no rub.

Yea, but the OP doesn't show the park mode w/ the wheels turned. I tend to engage park mode while in parking lots before parking and it seems like this size would definitely rub when pulling into a parking spot in park mode.

Surprisingly enough these don't rub at all, even in park mode, and I will say that I have done some tight turns/turned the wheel hard with these tires on and haven't had any rubbing at all. The room in the wheel well is amazing... but as you can see the room between the stud/bolt and the tire is a tad bit scary. But no rubbing.

Thanks for the great pictures! The tires look awesome and helped me decide the sizing I want for my Overland!

Re: The new tires are on!

Thanks for the info. I remember looking at this thread specifically before I ordered the tires, but that lingering doubt on the way home was driving me crazy. I'll post some pics when they come in... Should be any day now.

Re: The new tires are on!

Thanks for posting. I was looking at the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires too but haven't got enough positive feedback on how they do in the snow and ice. Looks like you're IN that kind of stuff a lot being in Alaska, so please let us know more after you've had them for a while.

So BManz as far as the snow and ice go well here you go. We do have quite a bit of it up here in Anchorage! And we are getting more snow as I speak

The snow... just regular snow fall, I'm not talking about hard packed snow or anything, these tires do quite well! I am impressed. I haven't taken it in any deep snow or anything, but on non-plowed regular roads these do well.

Now on the ice, they don't do that well. (I didn't expect them to anyway, I don't think there are any tires out there that do great on ice) I'm not saying they are horrible, but they aren't that great. Don't ask me to make an immediate stop on ice let me put it that way.

Hard packed snow, they do fairly well, I am comfortable enough to drive with these tires on packed snow and being able to stop.

I would recommend these tires, but know that they aren't Blizzak tires or Ipikes which are made for the snow and ice. You have to drive more cautiously during the winter with the Coopers on. But so far I am pleased with them! (With snow on the ground, I put the Jeep in "Snow" mode, just a fyi, so the review with these tires working in the snow is in Snow mode not Auto!)
