After, 3 hours of labor we pulled the tuff country leveling kit off. The ride was very harsh with the new 20" wheels. I machined up 2 3/4" spacers and bolted them to the top of the strut. The ride was perfect and it's nice and level. The 1.75" might of been overkill with the rear loaded up.

So did you do the leveling kit and 20" wheels at the same time ? Just wondering which mod caused the harsh ride.

I too am confused...

So you installed the Tuff Country leveling Kit (which is a 1.75" spacer kit for the front only) and the 20" rims - what size tires? and the ride was harsh.

So, you removed the 1.75" spacer kit and installed two (2) 0.75" spacers or 2.75" spacers up front?

How's the ride now?

First I installed the 20" wheels, no change in ride. I installed the leveling kit a few days later and pulled it off after test driving. The bumps felt like I was driving over tree stumps.

I machined up .75" spacers from aluminum, removed the leveling kit and installed my custom spacers above the strut mount.

Well that's not very good news about the leveling kit. What seemed to be the issue causing the rough ride? Something in the suspension being stretched?

I wonder how lifts are going to work out overall with the WK2. You know.....with it having individual suspension all the way around.

So to confirm, you ended up lifting the front by .75" ? and the ride is about same as stock?

I've been thinking about getting the leveling kit for awhile and have always though i'd machine it down from 1.75" to 1.25" if i get it. I don't tow very often but i thought when i do, i'd look like i'm going uphill if the front-back is totally level.

I feel per load the springs caused the issue, considering it was the only variable.

I machined a spacer to .75", placed it above the strut mount and raised the front by .75". I also had to install longer studs in the strut mount housing.
