Re: The official Wheel thread

Reposting a great link that takes 99% of the guess work out of wheels/tires/fit

Put your stock tire/wheel sizes on the left. Put in what you're thinking about putting on, on the right. Pay close attn to the "Clearance" explanation.

I'll be squeezing some 305/40r22 on 22x10 +45 on mine. Thanks to Rubrman for doing some recon on his very similar setup.

Re: The official Wheel thread

Hey everyone, Here is the pics of the wheels just fitted up. These 275's only just scrape in the top of the guard when hitting big bumps at high speed but other than that they fit nice..
The bighorns have a bit of road noise but well worth it for the extra traction I have gained.. Overall very happy with the setup....

Thanks! Yeah a wife, two baby girls, and two dogs it's pretty much mandatory for a road trip.

Re: The official Wheel thread

I have been searching for a reply to the question on fuel mileage and going to a slightly larger tire. What is the affect of going from the stock 265/60R18 all-season tire to a 265/65R18 all-terrain? How any mpg are lost, if any?

Such a minor change as to be negligable for any mpg change.

A marginally taller sidewall will effect your speedo and therefore your EVIC MPG calculator but your actual MPGs shouldn't change.

Yup. If you got significantly bigger as in when modding a JK, the unsprung weight would come into play, but this new tire has a 1" larger diameter than stock so shouldn't affect mpg. Army is right about speedo though. Example, when you're doing 60mph on the speedo w/ new tires you'll actually be doing 62mph.
