Re: The official Wheel thread

Guys, hoping someone could give me a quick answer to my question. Im installing the RRO 2.5 lift, purchased a set General Grabber AT2's (265/70/18) and am not trying to decide on wheels. Im considering the wheel but am not sure if the back spacing will work. I think the factory 20" wheels I have are 7" back spacing, will a wheel with 5" of back spacing work? Thanks for your help!

From what I've read on the forums anything over 5" should be okay.

Thanks, I just ordered a set of XD Addicts 18X9, +18 offset with 5.71" back spacing. I think they will fit perfect with my RRO lift and 265/70/18 tires.

Your original tire size is 30.5", new tire size is 32.6", and it will stick out 1.5" more than stock. Same width tire as stock. Hopefully you don't have fender rub with it sticking out so far coupled with a taller tire.

Btw, you're new speed at 60mph will be 64.2 unless you get a programmer to fix it.

Re: The official Wheel thread

Use this site to compare two wheel tire combos.
Also, I think the stock wheels have a 50-54mm backspace

I believe you are thinking of the offset, which is 56.4mm w/ 18" wheels. That's about 2.17 inches.

COJayhawker: What did you use to calculate that?

Re: The official Wheel thread

Backspace is backside of wheel mount <-> back lip of wheel
Offset is backside of wheel mount <-> center of wheel

Your right, I did mean 50-54mm Offset which results in ~6.5" Backspace on a 7.5" wide wheel.

I think Ill be fine with the extra 2.5" of lift. The factory wheels are stuffed so far into the wheel well that there is a lot of space to work with. Ill post a review once ive installed everything and spent some time on the road. Its also important to note that Im doing this primarily for looks. I doubt my DD will see much off-road use other then going camping and some light trails. Thanks for the heads up on the speed difference.
