Re: The official Wheel thread

Well, since I retired from the Army 12 years ago. . . I can honestly say I won't be caught dead in a Hummer, but if I die while off-road in my Jeep then I died happy.

Oh I agree with that. There all modified to do what a Hummer does... Chrysler put a lot of effort in making a quiet smooth riding 4x4 and you all take that away with lifting and putting big knobby tires on and what ever else it takes to make it an off road vehicle. I know I'm going to hear it but Oh well it's the way I feel.. Sorry I just don't get it...

Re: The official Wheel thread

The only "whatever else it takes" for your Jeep to be capable off-road is the driver.

That's my point, the Jeep is capable off the line to go off road, but some want to take away the sound proofing and smooth ride by lifting and stiffening the suspension.

And some want to actually add more "chrome" to it than it already comes with stock, believe it or not.

Move along. It's been settled that we have all kinds of Jeep users here that like to lower and improve handling on road, while others keep the tradition of making them even more off road capable with things that jeopardize on road ability at times. It's their choice, their Jeep. No one cares if it bothers you.

This ^^^

.. and my neighborhood only has a gas station every two blocks, I'm pretty sure you would need one every block for a hummer!

Re: The official Wheel thread

I'm wondering why he was on the "official wheel thread" if the idea of changing them doesn't appeal to him. Trolling, perhaps? Those types should just be ignored. He had nothing useful to contribute to the topic.

Re: The official Wheel thread

No I'm not fishing. If you go back to post #342 you will see my question, which I only received one response. I like my Jeep because to me it's a luxury vehicle that's good in the snow or a back road and I do like it low and chromed up some what. I even modify a little under the hood and do like the Corsa exhaust sound. I didn't say it bothers me. I said, I just don't get. Some pay all that money on a beautiful riding and looking Jeep and screw up the suspension so the tires rub and take all the chrome off and paint it with a can of black paint. You all have a right to do what you want. I personally don't get it.
