Any pictures of the matte black vs. black chrome next to each other? Or even better, on a Wk2?

Yes they are OEM Wheel factory original take offs that we refinished to offer different looks and options.

Note there are two different versions of these wheels on their web site. One for $692.00 for 4 (polished, silver, black or matte black). And another for $1,472 for 4 (polished, silver, black, matte black and black chrome). Even though they are all listed as OEM take offs, I suspect that's wrong and the cheaper are replicas while the more expensive are OEM. I sent them an email last week asking this, and details on the manufacturing process, type of finish, etc. I haven't heard back, so I'll probably call when I get a chance.

For background, what "shortcuts" might go into producing an inferior replica? Are there particular materials, manufacturing processes or methods of finishing the wheels that should be avoided, or at least the cost/benefit understood?

So are they bad wheels that you wouldn't recommend buying? I'm glad I just read this thread because I was just about to buy a set, believing that they were OEM wheels.

Re: these are hot

OEM... Replicas... No difference. We are talking about wheels, not airplane engines.

I bought Replica z06 wheels for my vette. They are exactly the same as the OEMs and were way less $. 2 years and still going strong.

Re: these are hot

We have a 100% feedback on ebay, an A rating with the BBB, and 5 out of 5 stars on google reviews on our website. Most of our inventory is replica or customized designs, as designated in the advertisements. These wheels however are OEM take offs, and have the associated markings. Yes, they were manuractured in Korea. We are here to accurately describe our products and be an honest merchant that cares about their customers. GO GATORS, please contact me directly Lance@oewheels.net, I am a fellow alum and will make sure you are taken care of. Once you receive your wheels, you can post images of your product and verify to your fellow forum members that there is a reason we have outstanding ratings.
