Re: Tire pressure light.. when does it turn off?

Had same problem with our Overland saying low pressure when all tires were at 35 psi. Took to dealer and the showed me copy of Customer Satisfaction Notification L11 - Tire pressure monitor system, which I had never received. They reprogrammed TIPM and all is well now.

Re: Tire pressure light.. when does it turn off?

It only started to display low pressure on one tire when it seemed to have hit 29.. which from what J13ntv shows in his chart, is the notification threshold.

That was fine -- i just couldnt understand why it didnt turn off when I inflated it back to 34/35 but he explained the psi has to hit the recommended level for the monitor to reset.

What does that customer notification say? I dont recall seeing that myself.. or maybe i never paid attention to it.

Re: Tire pressure light.. when does it turn off?

Low tire pressure light came on for the first time indicating my back right tire was down to about 29psi. I filled it to match the other three at 34. Warning light didn't go off after two days of driving. After reading some of the posts I increased all tires to 36 and it went off after just a few miles. Stiil getting to know my Jeep.

Re: Tire pressure light.. when does it turn off?

Any tire dealer will be able to reset your TPMS, again all the variable's in place when you're replacing/changing tires, heat tolerances, heavier sidewalls etc....the sidewall will flex causing the monitor to trip. They set the calibrator to the factory spec's and basically it magnitizes the TPMS pulling it back along the inside of the sidewall. The lower the pressure the more sidewall flex thereby the TPMS lift's off inner sidewall sending the warning.
