Hello,
I've just joined the Jeep family by buying a 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit Diesel. I was considering a BMW X6 and a few others during the process.
I've done a heck of a lot of reading on this forum about wheel sizes and fitment and also discovered that upgrading to the Brembo Brakes is doable :)

My wife loves the Spyder Monkey rims although we are considering a few others too.
I understand that the Brembos are doable with the 20x9 or the 20x10 replica wheels. Thanks Evolv0! I'm not sure we will be doing the brake upgrade but it's nice to leave it as an option.

Could some one please explain why I would choose one over the other between the 9 or 10 inch widths? I have seen people using 295/45R20 on both different rims. I would like a fair bit of tire interfacing with the pavement and I like the wide look. I don't want to give up any functionality with our new vehicle or introduce any rubbing.

Are there wider size all seasons that would fit/work well with the 10" vs 9"?
I have looked and tried to compare how the wheels would sit on the rim and the part that sits on the road seems the same at 11.6".

Sorry if this is hard to understand but I'm being rushed out the door as I type.
I'll return later and hope to be able to clear up any further question.

Come on guys, some one must be a wheel/tire guru here.
Wanting to get some wheels ordered and figure out the tires.
20x10 or 20x9 ?
Advantages, differences, larger rubber on the 10"s?

Thanks!

2014 Grand Cherokee Summit Diesel Loaded (for Canada)

I am in the same boat.. I had bought a 2014 Jeep SRT in May and kept it about a month.. I loved the performance aspect but found it was not what I wanted in the 4 wheel drive area. I took a hit and traded back in for a 2014 Summit with the diesel. I have about 1200 miles and really like it. We have property in Colorado and wanted it for some off-roading when not on the Can Am ATV's. The factory 20" wheels are fine with street tires but want a set of something to put on when we go to Colorado. I did some research on the SRT wheels (Brembo brakes) and came up with buying the Nitto Terra Grappler 265/50-20 with MB Torque 20"x9" wheels. I am wondering would I be better with say 18" wheels with more normal off-road type tires instead of the 20" style. They seem to be so much more expense just for the looks... I curious about tires diameter 18" versus the 20"...

You will be very limited in tires that keep the stock overall diameter.
295/45/20 are the stock size on th 20x10 stock SRT wheels. This would be my suggestion.

I think there is a 305/45/20 that is only .3" or 1% taller in diameter as well.

Will the 18" factory Jeep Rubicon wheels/tires work on the 2014 Grand Cherokee? Lug pattern, offset, etc.?????? I see a lots of options on Craigslist for new people swapping up to 20" I assume. Wranglers and Rubicons. 17" and 18"...

The Rubicon wheels are 17" (anyone who says otherwise is wrong), and will not fit over the "heavy duty" brakes on HEMI V8 and Diesel models (they will fit over the smaller calipers on the Gas V6 models, however). The 18" Sahara wheels will fit fine, although personally, I don't like the style of the Sahara wheels.

I agree about the wheels on the Sahara. However, for me, all I need is something to get me to and from the mountains as well as running around in the mountains. I found a nice set (5) with 200 miles on them for $800 here close to Houston. I think they would work fine. I still need to buy the TPS sensors to make them work with the Grand Cherokee. These have the center part of the wheel painted black. Are those a special edition? I don't see them on the Jeep website except in the polished version... Looks like the exact wheel but painted black....
