Tire size reprogram for 2014 Diesel OL GC

Ive searched a ton of threads and not found any really good direct info, just a lot of conjecture about the dealer being able to reprogram, but it seems like the consensus says that is not the case actually.

I have a 2014 Overland Diesel, and I'm wanting to go up in tire size if I can reprogram properly. I have a Trinity, but it doesn't seem to support the diesel.

Any real first hand knowledge would be great.

Thank you

What did your dealer have to say about it?

Heath, not that I can answer your question specifically but do you mind commenting on what tire size you are wanting to go up to and from? My 2014 Overland came with 265/50R20; curious to know your plans?

Leaning toward the Hankooks. I had them on my F150 and loved them.

I haven't brought it to them. There are numerous posts on here saying the dealer said they could do it, then they couldn't do it. There are techs and dealers that are better than others though.

I wanted a solid answer before I buy. I would have to have the tires already installed to get my dealer to mess with it.

How will you get a solid answer on the internet if you can't get it from your dealer? Seems a phone call to the shop who you plan on going to will give you a better idea. At least you know for sure who is giving you the answer.

If someone on one of the forums, has actually had success, with any manner of reprogramming for the tire size, then they could give me their first hand information.

A phone call to the shop will likely result in what others have heard. "Yes we can do it", but then when it comes down to it, they can't. On a wrangler they can, but a GC, all I've seen on forums is that they can't. There may be some other programmer or method I don't know about though.

With 99% certainty, a tire size reprogram CANNOT be accomplished for 2014 and later MYs. Green diesel engineering said they were physically unable to alter tire size parameters in The ECU when they improve the engine performance.

I have heard that the Diablo tuner can do it, but have no real knowledge if that's true. The dealer cannot do it.
