Has anyone else had both drivers side tires wear on the outside edge while the passenger side tires wear on the inside? Wondering if this is an alignment issue or if I need to check for worn parts? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
I would suspect alignment (toe in particular) as the most likely cause of this. Don't delay as tires can get ruined really quickly this way...I know that from recent experience when mis-alignment caused excessive wear when I suddenly had to do several thousand miles to deal with a family health mater. As it turned out, I suspect that the independent shop's alignment machine was "off". My dealer was able to correct things to spec and new tires were "cheerfully" obtained and installed. Yea...it was expensive.
It can't hurt to get the alignment checked. I've just never seen a newish vehicle with all four wheels misaligned the exact same direction, as if leaning to the driver's side (left). Hence, my original comment.
I see what you said as a very legitimate possibility. My tires are so worn on edges (especially drivers side) that I need tires now. I drive 125 miles round trip each day so it's hard to find time to catch it in time and get it fixed before damage was done.
Gonna put new tires soon at Goodyear. Gonna do alignment then. Thinking of changing to either some bilstien 4600 shocks or maybe Monroe shocks prior. Hoping those will make ride better too. Figure shocks before alignment would be wise.
