tires are whooped... 19k miles!!!

this is the final straw with this Jeep (GC 14). 19,400 miles and the tires are almost bald. I am beside myself. How can any vehicle chew tires up that fast!? I have an '05 scion tc that got 40k out of a set (low profiles too!!)

At $220 / tire... i hate this truck even more. I wont make it to July (end of lease) before I need tires..

The crappy part is, i just noticed I am way overdue for an inspection! (like... it was up in July!! lol) I am afraid they wont even pass.

For a few months on a lease I think id be going for the $75 dollar variety of tire

Also those tires should have manufacturer warranty on them they should prorate them for dying so quickly

I've got 54k on the forteras so far. They look like they'll go another 10k easy.

Re: tires are whooped... 19k miles!!!

While I chose to switch out my Forteras at 40K as they wouldn't have been the best for the coming winter that year at 6/32, they were doing just fine for tread wear. At the same token, the Nitto NT421Qs I replaced them with are wearing a little faster than I expected. Tires are like that I guess...

Re: tires are whooped... 19k miles!!!

Maybe you need an alignment if your only getting 19k on those tires.

They are evenly wearing... so no alignment (and it was checked not too long ago)

If it were me and I was just trying to get through a few months of a lease I would go to a used tire place where you could get some for $75 each just to get you through a few months.

But keep in mind with them wearing out at 20k you probably have at least a 50% prorate on them, you should have a tire place look at them and calculate that for you it could be your best savings.

or just throw some junk like this on it for $110 each to get you through a few months, assuming you have the 20s

No idea how you could wear out the tires that fast. I drive fairly spirited and mine are maybe around 50% at 22k miles.

Something doesn't seem right. He may be exaggerating just a little 🤔

Do you rotate your tires and if so how often? I have 8000 miles on my tires and have not had them rotated.
