Tires worn with 32000

I know this was brought up before, but my 13 GC has 32000 on it but I run snows for 3 months out of the year, the factory Michellins are junk. They are down to the wear bars. They are worn very even with no cupping or un even wear.
Is it bum tires or is the thing to heavy for car tires? I'm getting new tires tomorrow regardless but figured I see if this is very common.

Mine were tossed at 27K miles because winter was approaching (October of 2014). OEM Michelins are crap.

Re: Tires worn with 32000

Any factory tire is going to be crap. You have to remember that Chrysler put out an RFP to purchase nearly 1,000,000 tires per year. Low bid wins. They are going to supply the cheapest tires they can- out of round, heavy spots and blems be damned. It is not the same tire as you would purchase from your local garage. In addition to that, the load rating for our specific tire is around 2100 lbs. So all four are barely rated to keep our vehicles aloft when they are new.
IMHO, get a better tire and get better results. Everyone has their flavor but I've gone through 2 sets of Nitto (Terra and Mud Grappler) tires on 2 jeeps.

Re: Tires worn with 32000

Agree with everyone else,my Michelins were done at 25k,all even wear, regular rotation etc,but yep, done at 25k,went with General Grabbers per Merchants Tire Co suggestion/recommendation,figured why not, running those on my Wrangler 40k and still plenty of tread/traction.Only 650 miles on the new ones so as for longevity, time will tell, but supposed to be good for +60k.

Re: Tires worn with 32000

I got a little over 32k miles on my '14 (EcoDiesel) and they are looking pretty rough. I was a little disappointed, but after reading a few posts I guess that's on par. It sees mostly city/highway driving with occasional off-road, winter, and towing mileage (whenever I get out of the concrete jungle of Houston and get back home to my Big Horn Mountains in WY ).

Anyone running any Cooper tires? Or any other tire suggestions?

Re: Tires worn with 32000

How many miles are you guys expecting to get out of these things? To me that seems like a ton of miles on a set of tires. Not only that but you would think at that point you would want something else on there anyway. Maybe I'm just used to my Corvette Z06 that would have tires shot at 8,000 miles LOL.
Are the OEM tires supposed to be 50k tires or something?

Interesting, but if you price the M/S [now defender] against the latitude, those latitudes are egregiously overpriced and underqualified.

The older Jeeps had actual tires. Not ones I cared for, but fairly good tires.
