TMPS Sensors same for all WK2?

There seems to be two tire pressure monitoring systems used on the WK2, the base that simply lights a warning on low pressure and the premium that displays tire pressure. But there seems to be only one TPMS sensor listed, the 56029398AA. Do both monitoring systems use the same sensor?

I want to set up a beat up/winter set of wheels/tires and want to make sure I get the right sensors.

I'm 99% sure all TPMS sensors across the line are the same. In fact, you don't even need the Chrysler branded product, there are generic equivalents out there but they don't cost that much less than the branded product.

Re: TMPS Sensors same for all WK2?

i can't confirm, but i had a similar question and was told the TPMS modules are the exact same across the wk2 line... it's only some module inside the car, or the EVIC itself that allows for that "premium" feautre of indicating exact PSI in each tire.

like i said... that isnt confirmed, just what i've been told from sources i don't really know if i trust.

Re: TMPS Sensors same for all WK2?

Nice! Thanks ColdCase. Anyone use these with success? I had the ones in J4G in my shopping cart but it just seemed like a lot of money for something I'll only use on off-road 18s.

Edit - Just found 4 take-offs on eBay for $75 ($60 after I used a $15 eBay groupon that has been laying around). A lot better than $260 new!

Re: TMPS Sensors same for all WK2?

They recommend using new valve stems and screw when reusing TPMS sensors. About $10 each wheel kit I think, any tire dealer can get them. If the sensors are take offs from recent models, they will have rubber stems, many in the tire industry recommend using the metal stems. I dunno which would be better or more durable for off road use.

I have no experience with either types off road, but just in case I thought I'd mention it.
