WOW, that sucks! I feel for ya . . .
Which dealer did you go to? If you were here in the SW I would be happy to drive mine over with ya and we could BOTH give the Stealer an ass chewing!! I would be going postal about now . . .

Re: TPMS Sensor Error

The one downtown near the bus station.

It's the hassle of it all that really gets me. Dropping it off and getting a shuttle to work and getting picked up and all that. And then nothing is fixed.

Judging from the service report the tech had a really hard time getting them to transmit to the receiver. Had to trying a few different tricks.

I'm totally guessing mind you but I think it's the unit that receives the signal that needs to be replaced.

Go to my happy place.

That would be Renfrew Chrysler. I was in there looking at a 2014 Summit about 3 months ago (when I was looking to buy mine). I wasn't impressed with their salesmen nor their demeanour. They seemed kind of shady & we're telling me anything I wanted to hear just to get the sale. I said no thanks, and left (never to return!) I was not impressed and after listening to your report, I made the right decision!

Finding a sales guy that your comfortable with respects your opinion and listens to what you want is rare. It's always about closing the deal as quickly as possible. And most of them don't care how they do it.

Mud flap installation happens this weekend. Did a dry fit last night. They look great. Fronts seem easy.

Can't wait.

Any inside tips Hemi.

Gravity, I agree! Trying to find a good salesman these days is almost impossible!
However, installing the mud flaps are pretty straight forward. The instructions are pretty good! Did you get the rivet gun and rivets yet? If so, then you are good to go! Make sure when re-installing the rivets that you press the tip of the gun REALLY tight against the fender well, before you pull the lever back. Otherwise, the rivet will snap off easily (they are only plastic, so not very strong). Also, do NOT overtighten the bolts as they will strip easily (ask me how I know! ) On the front flaps, I never drilled a hole into the metal fender to install one of the fasteners (as shown in the instructions). I didn't feel it was needed . . . Overall, I think you will be happy with both front & rear flaps. They make not look sexy, but they sure do keep the rocks & gravel from chipping the hell out of your paint!

Re: TPMS Sensor Error

Okay but I thought I only needed the Rivet gun to reattach the inner fender liner once I replace my fog lights? I need it for the mud flap install as well?

They came with U shaped metal clips that allows the fender liner to slide in between them. Then I put the screws through them into the fender. No mention of the need for a rivet gun in the instructions.

I was going to pick one up today from Princess Auto anyway for the fog light install.

You are right, I was getting the two confused . . . you will only need it if you are going to drill the hole into the front wheel well (as per instructions).

Re: TPMS Sensor Error

Dropped it off yesterday and they called 6 hours later and said it was all fixed again. And I replied "really Did you take it for a test drive because as I said before, the problem returns when I'm on my way home" .

They didn't test drive it. So they took it out and low and behold the TPMS light came on.

Now they're going to replace the unit and reads the sensors.

This will be the 5th time back.

Geesh, you are having some bad luck with your Jeep! It's frustrating when we have such a gorgeous looking SUV but it has soooo many little issues! It's like the Trooper song . . . '3 dressed up as a 9.' I hope they get it sorted out! Which dealer is working on it now?

Re: TPMS Sensor Error

Renfrew. If it was one thing after another then I'd start to get annoyed.

But once this is fixed hopefully that'll be the end of it.

I just wish that they told me from the get go that they used aftermarket sensors. And that they'd look at the issue and ask themselves why it comes on after 20 minutes of driving. I mean really. It's the third time back for the same thing and nobody even considers a a road test.

That's the part that bugs me. They treat each visit as a separate issue.
