TPSM for 2012 Overland

What Mhz TPSM does my 2012 Overland with 20" wheels use. I had a guy at a wheel dealership tell me not to get the metal chrome stems because they rust and break off. Is this true? He said get the rubber stem and get the chrome sleeves that go over them. What to do and where to buy? Does the style of wheel determine which TPSM and stem to be used?

Re: TPSM for 2012 Overland

The OEM TPMS senders have a rubber stem and look like regular rubber valve stems when mounted.
Are you planning on going w/aftermarket senders with metal stems? I wouldn't

I was....Why not? I'm getting chrome wheels rubber will look cheap... Do they make a generic chrome sleeve that goes over the stem?

Re: TPSM for 2012 Overland

I've been checking out prices on ebay for sensors. So many to choose from. Some are 40 bucks and other 200.00. They both say OEM. What is the difference. Can some one give me a link to to correct ones to use on my 2012 Overland? Maybe a genuine OEM part #. Thanks

Try here: Mopar TPMS Sensors 56029400AE 4 Pack Charger Challenger 300 Grand Cherokee | eBay

I bought these for my 2014...they are OEM, reasonably priced, and look nice on chrome wheels.

Are you meaning don't go aftermarket and metal or just aftermarket. Will metal be OK? They only will be used in the summer. I'm thinking these Mopar TPMS Sensors 56029400AE 4 Pack Charger Challenger 300 Grand Cherokee | eBay
Will they work on a 10" wide aftermarket SRT Rep wheel?

I would assume that Chrysler would not put these sensors on their vehicles if there were a problem with corrosion, so one good reason to go OEM. It looks to me as these as though the metal component of these sensors is aluminum, so corrosion should not be a problem. I have these on my 20"x10" SRT Reps.

You wouldn't happen to have a close up pic of them by any chance? Not to close I would like to see how they go with the wheel...

I wouldn't go aftermarket at all, to unreliable, questionable corrosion protection. Those OEM Chrysler sensors with aluminum shafts and metal caps seem like a good choice as long as they come with the same frequency your running.

Now I know these http://www.ebay.com/itm/121413746576...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
are the correct sensors for my 2012 Overland but will they fit and work on a 20x10 SRT Rep?

Those will work w/the correct frequency and will mount to most all wheels as the valve stem hole is a standard size. You could slide the metal sleeves you linked too earlier in this thread over them to get the look you want. Note that those metal sleeves come in different lengths to accommodate different length rubber valve stems.
