Transfer TPMS system

This is probably a dumb question, but I am looking to buy 2014 Rims/Tires.

My current tires have the TPMS. Is it easy to transfer these from one set to the other? Is anything weird to keep in mind if I want to do this on my own?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Transfer TPMS system

Since they install inside the tire with a compatible valve stem, unless you have the ability to do tire mounting and balancing, it's not a self-install.

Re: Transfer TPMS system

Price new units for the new wheels unless you are getting rid of the old wheels.
They are coming down as they become more popular/competitive.

If you're in Denver area, I would guess you may want two wheels so you can mount season appropriate tires...

Re: Transfer TPMS system

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ended up going to a family friends shop and ended up having to replace one that broke on the transfer :/.

Now I am deciding whether to keep both sets of wheels or sell them.
