Tread width or height for tire rub ?

I know its a combination and offset.

Just wondering which one would cause more of a chance of rub without doing pinch weld mod .

I can go with 32.0" and 9" width ( 275/65/18 )

or

32.6 and 8.8 width (265/70/18 )

I have 1.25 spacers already and 31.5" and RR 2.5 lift
I could do pinch if 32.6 will work for sure

The design at the edge of the tire also contributes...

yes , the shoulder but, if the manufacturer is giving the tread width that would include the edge/shoulder correct ?

Re: Tread width or height for tire rub ?

The shoulder is included in the width, for sure, but something "more square" is going to function "wider" than something that's more rounded...which in turn can up the risk of rubbing as the wheels are turned.

Re: Tread width or height for tire rub ?

Has anyone really ever know the origins of this chart, who made it and what exact vehicle it was made for?

I know it works for the WK2project specific wheel and offset specification but outside of that it is not accurate. you can not use that chart alone.
