Trying to decide on summer wheel packages

Hey Guys,

I just learned with our last snow fall how bad the Forteras are at handling themselves in these conditions. As a result, I decided to make my OEM wheels my winters & mounted Bridgestone Blizzak DMV1's on them.

Now I have until spring to decide on a summer wheel package. I'm humming & hawing over staying with 20's or upsizing to 22's. If I go with 20"s, I'm going to go with Cooper Zeon LTZ's in a 285-50-20. If I go with 22"s, I'm hoping to go with the Cooper Zeon LTZ's in a 305-40-22 like "Michigan Fan".

Here are the wheels I'm considering....let me know your thoughts & if anyone has these wheels in 20's especially (not alot of pics out there of 20's) please post them. All of the pics shown are 22" wheels.

1. Concavo CW-5
2. Lexani R6
3. Lexani R7

CW5's painted or powder coated one solid color.
Not a fan of the 2-tone.

I say CW-5s also, but in 20's. With 22s you'd find yourself zigzaging around the smallest road imperfections like pimp mobiles.

Re: Trying to decide on summer wheel packages

Nice choices I like the Ccw's.

I actually ordered the lexani r7 in 22x10 with nitto 420s 285/40/22. I was indecisive between that size tire and a 305/40/22. I've seen some people run them on here, and I know I need a high offset but haven't got any info off of people here using them to confirm.

Well anyways the place I bought them from gave me some BS about the supplier being out of stock, so it works out for me anyways as I get a little more time to confirm the offset and I ordered the 305/40/22 already. I think I'll use a +35mm offset being that lexani wheels start as blanks and are drilled and shaved to order.

That's great...looking forward to seeing how it works for you. What sort of timeline did the Lexani supplier give you for the rims?

The main reason I'd to go with the 305-40-22 is I want the Cooper Zeon LTZs.....I love those tires. They don't make them in a smaller 22" size though.

Re: Trying to decide on summer wheel packages

I went with 305/35/22 tires for my 22's. I'll be running a 22x10.5 with a 38 offset as soon as I put them on I'll let u know I'm reluctant to put them on in the winter but in getting anxious just seeing them sit in my garage waiting for the spring lol

What's wrong with putting them on in the winter, do you have snow in your area?

That combo should work, which tire did you choose and what rim?

My wheels are on back order and I was going to go with a Lexani Johnson II in chrome and have them powdercoated the rest of the wheel minus the face, when lexani went to pull the wheels out of the warehouse they only had 3. I'm just going to wait until they are back in stock.

The salt from the winter road preparation and the potholes are what holds me back.

I got 22x10.5 XO Miami's with 305/35/22 pirelli's, i'm lowered on road magnets so i didnt want to rub with 305/40/22's

Same as this except He's running 265/35/22's mine will be a lot wider and no stretch.

I'll probably install them tomorrow If it's warm enough and I have time.
