Upgrading to 20" Wheels / Offset Question

I have a 14 Laredo with 17's and am going to get summer wheels/tires. I want 20's and I want them to be wide enough to at minimum be even with the outside edge of the fender, a few millimeters wider would be OK to. My research has shown, if I'm correct, the offset number will depend on the width of the rim. Is there and easy way to figure this out? If I get a 20/9 rim, what should the offset be?

Re: Upgrading to 20" Wheels / Offset Question

The 20x9 SRT reps I have been looking at have around a 34 to 37mm offset and are a direct swap. My stock Altitude wheels are 20x8 with a 56mm offset. I have used this website to determine how a new wheel/tire combo will fit:

Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit

Hope this helps and let us know which wheels you go with

Unfortunately, I don't know the exact specs of the current rims. I'm sure any rim I get that says it fits a Grand Cherokee will fit. I just want it to stick out wide and have that beefy look, so to speak.

Could you post pic? I'm not so much worried about any issues as I am about the looks.
