Using the air suspension tank for other things

It would be nice to be able to refill the tires after a run on the beach. I know that the GM products attach an air hose to their air tanks, has anyone considered using the quadra-lift air tank to refill the tires?

Re: Using the air suspension tank for other things

The QL system on the Jeep is a closed-loop system. This means there is a fixed amount of gas (nitrogen) in the system and the system's compressor is used to adjust the volume and pressure of gas in different locations (whether that be the bladder at the shock, or the pressure vessel under the rear seat).

yep -- all with buzzy standard air compressors. I didn't realize how different our cars are.

But hey, just add an air compressor and storage tank. I'm sure you can find some room somewhere.....

Someone's gotta guinea pig it

Re: Using the air suspension tank for other things

My Pontiac Bonneville SSE and SSEi both had outlets in the rear for pumping up air mattresses, tires, etc. Kinda handy actually.
(but those cars are long gone now)

So in my vehicles I carry a small air pig just for that purpose.

Re: Using the air suspension tank for other things

anyone have any thoughts on installing an air compressor versus one which includes a tank? looks like the tank doubles the price:

I guess it just depends on how long i'm willing to wait.
