"Variable Conditions" tire options

The 265/50/20 tire size is really starting to get populated with some nice options.

I was looking at the Nokian WR SUV 3, but Toyo has recently introduced a new tire called the Celsius. The Celsius is a 60K rated tire that excels in winter conditions (it is M+S rated), but can be driven year round. They are calling it a new category -- the variable conditions tire.

Is Toyo’s Celsius in a new category? - Retail - Modern Tire Dealer

To go along with the all season tires like the (new) Michelin Defender LTX M/S, Cooper Discoverer SRX, Nitto 421Q, Pirelli Scorpion Verde, Yokohama Parada Spec-X, Bridgestone Dueller H/L Alenza Plus, etc; it is nice to see all of the options.

Don't suppose anyone has tried the Toyo Celsius yet?

Re: "Variable Conditions" tire options

Looks comparable to the nokian. Looks like a nice tire. On my wife 2015 altitude the Michelin defender, Nokian and now these will be added to list. I'll give the stock fortera's one winter then I might change to one of these. Glad to see some more tire choices to handle the winter better for the 20 inch wheels.

Have you found a price for the 265/50/20 Nokian WR SUV 3 tires? I tried searching and could not find them anywhere showing what they cost.

I put a set of the Celsius tires on my wife's cx9 a couple weeks ago. Only been through a couple inches of snow/ice so far. She says they're nice and quiet and are good so far. I have yet to drive in the snow with them. Hopefully soon I will be able to test them out and see if I would put them on my jeep.

Re: "Variable Conditions" tire options

I just drove my wife's car with the Celsius tires through about 10" of snow and ice with no problems. Obviously a snow tire is best but I'm not going through changing tires out again. These will be a good tire year round.

Re: "Variable Conditions" tire options

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about a set for my 2016 Overland this Fall. How were they on the Mazda over the warmer weather so far?
