Went back to the 20's

I am back to my orginal setup 20" wheels with the Goodyear Foteria's. I had switched to the 20" Michelin Latitude HP which is probably a good tire but the ride was terrible. Then I went with the black mopar rims and 18" Goodyear wrangler silent armor which had a good ride, but the wheels just took away from the look of the vehicle after having those good looking 20's on it. I learned a good and expensive lesson. The suspension is tuned for the orginal tires and while the michelins did handle good on smooth roads I could not believe how bad they made the ride on rough roads. In the end I have the orginal tires and wheels back on it. The michelins the tire store bough back at a fraction of what I paid for them. Then I have the black mopar wheels with Goodyear silent armors I guess in case I want to put them on for the winter or for off road. My advice to anyone thinking of switching from the foterias to another 20" tire is be very careful it can really change how the vehicle drives.

Re: Went back to the 20's

That sucks. I'm going to pick up an extra set of chrome 20s for my rig. I plan to move the factory tires to the chromies and put blizzacks on the stock painted 20s.

Re: Went back to the 20's

went with hankook ventus st on the 20's couldn't be happier, exactly what i was looking for, stick like glue, handle like on rails, and responsive steering and feedback, except a little numb at center but no more bounce like forteras. comfortable? wasn't my goal, but i think they take the bumps in a little different manner than the forteras, hard to explain the feel almost like the bump transfers into the tire and not all the way though to you. though rated as all seasons, i would not even think about driving them in any winter conditions, tread depth and design is not meant for any slush, snow or the like imo...

Re: Went back to the 20's

My 20" Forteras (36 psi) are very smooth and comfortable compared to my 18" Blizzaks (33 psi).
Tires do make a big difference.

I went with the Hankook's too, awesome tire, the ride is so much better than the POS Forteras. As far as snow, I ran them on my RRS (275/45/20) for a few months last winter before I put on my Blizzak's, surprisingly they did really well in the snow. I wouldn’t run them all winter though, especially since my rears are 295's.

I would run the Hankooks all winter before I ran the Forteras.
