You're right. They're a combo of stainless and aluminum. Just what I want right over my calipers. Ever place a lid on a hot pot?

These don't try to imitate big brake kits? How so?

Re: What do you think? Brake caliper cover question

I saw a guy driving next to me with red caliper covers on his WK2 Limited and to be honest it looked so fake. It took me a split second to realize they were covers.

My vote is for paint or a real BBK.

Re: What do you think? Brake caliper cover question

Just depends on what you like, painting, buying covers or reaching deep in your pockets for the REAL thing. It's your jeep and your decision and either way you look good because you're driving a jeep.

Nice. What's your drop setup?

About the covers. I bought a pair of MGP and returned. Didn't like the look. Got the brush paint kit in my garage waiting.

I saw a set on a parked Mustang the other day and someone in my neighborhood has them on his A5. They really cheapen the look of the car. I'd prefer the stock look over them.

I can agree on this as well. I've seen a few cars and trucks running around my area with them. It's just tacky looking. I've painted mine a few years back but I need to do it again with a better kit like G2

Re: What do you think? Brake caliper cover question

Out of the choice of Black or red I would say: BLACK!

Just my 2 cents:

I am not opposed to covers but the MGP covers sizes are too damn exagerated:

I feel everyone should be able to do what they want to their car regardless of other's opinion.

Which that said I feel that painting the calipers to enhance the look of most vehicles me personally I don't red paint on anything that is not a brembo (that is my personal opinion) but red caliper do offer a great contrast against alot of wheels.

In the past I have either used silver, blue or black paint to do my stock calipers.

My previous vehicle a 2004 VW touareg had unpainted brembos from factory and I painted them gloss black and put on a brembo sticker on them only because they were actual brembos.

If I ever get my hands on some SRT brakes and wheel for my truck I would paint the calipers silver so they would not attract as much attention as the SRT gloss red but that is just me.
