What is the purpose of this "gauge"

I have looked in the owners manual. Aside from telling me my front wheels are turned, I don't get the purpose.

Mine is a 2014 JGC Limited 4X4 Quadra Drive

Re: What is the purpose of this "gauge"

eh, useless imho but if u had this screen up and you were 4 wheelin over obstacles or getting jiggy in mud or snow it can let you know better where u r in wheel turns as 1 full steering wheel rev is not quite all left/rt on that scale...they put it in because they could...

Re: What is the purpose of this "gauge"

The best use would be during 4-wheeling. When going up and over an obstacle (or under) it is sometimes important to know if your wheels are straight or turned.

That screen provides this information.

I tried putting a wheel on a curb to try that out but nothing changed. Guess I need a higher curb :-)

If you are offroading and can't tell which way your wheels are turned, you've got problems.

Re: What is the purpose of this "gauge"

I don't find the drivetrain page all that interesting.

The articulation page, however, seems more useful.. when you can't actually see your wheels..

Wheel cameras would be one hell of a lot more useful.
OK, it may have SOME purpose, but its mostly eye candy for the easily amused.
