Re: What tires are you running for the winter?

studded tires don't wear any faster then non studded tires. Most snow tires can be bought either way. They can be used the same as any snow tire dry or wet conditioons. No snow tire is recommended to be used over 45* for extended periods of time because the softer rubber compound wears quicker.

My wife and I both have snow tires that have been on since november for me and late october for her. Hers are studded and she drives 15miles to work one way every day. We've had one snow storm since halloween.

Re: What tires are you running for the winter?

Had my Jeep out in it's first snowfall over an inch here in Pittsburgh on the stock latitudes with no issues. It does kick sideways when getting on it going around bends but a slight countersteer and same throttle pulls it back in line. We had 2 inches of snow and 1/4 inch of ice. I went up my driveway which is at a decent angle with no issues, I tried it in all modes and they all worked good. Snow mode works the best by killing a little power of the start.

Re: What tires are you running for the winter?

Don't know how much longer they'll last, but they can be use in non snow conditons as long as the temps are cool. My studded Winterforce tires on a 2011 Fusion worked extremely well today even in the slush going up hill in the passing lane.
