What wheels are these?

There on an '11 Overland (Not Summit)

here's the actual link: http://www.taylorchryslerdodge.net/n...c5cc8beda8.htm

Are those just the Summit wheels on a regular Overland?

Re: What wheels are these?

Looks like Summit wheels on a regular Overland, probably a swap, someone bought a Summit but liked the painted wheels better or they had the painted wheels chromed.

Re: What wheels are these?

Those are the 20's for the new Durango with the center caps switched out..

This is an option I am considering to go with to replace my painted 18's.

Correct. However, IMHO, its a poor move by Chrysler (Dodge) to use chrome plated plastic over a steel rim (like a hub cab, but on an alloy wheel.) Not to mention, when purchasing a 48K Durango, you should get a proper wheel.

Re: What wheels are these?

Correct, these are off of the Durango Citadel (top of the line model). Personally, not a fan of these wheels.

I believe the Overland Summit wheels are the same as the Overland but have a Bright Polished finish instead of Satin Carbon.

I believe it's an aluminum wheel underneath but I've never looked at on close up to see.

What makes this not a proper wheel? From what I've been able to glean in the real world the chrome cladding has shown to be lower maintenance and retain it's look longer than polished or traditional chromed aluminum.

Re: What wheels are these?

This type of Chrome rarely lasts more then 1-2 winters in locations that use salt. I had a similar coating on 2 sets of OEM Lincoln Navigator rims (second was a replacement under warranty). After the second pair peeled I sent them off to be sandblasted and properly Chromed and it lasted for the next 5 years until I sold it.

Re: What wheels are these?

I dunno - fwiw they look like the 17s on my 2001 60th anniv. limited....
Very pretty on the car - but after 10 years and 128k miles they leak like a spaghetti strainer --- seems the chrome just peeled off from the inside of them and the center caps won't stay on----

Re: What wheels are these?

Yeah but if they're constructed like the Ram wheels then they aren't really chrome plating over a alloy wheel. Most of the oem's went to a chrome clad design to cut down on warranty claims. These type of wheels cannot be chromed in the traditional sense.
