Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

sorry to say i have no experience with RHD, so i can't even guess why they don't compensate for road crown.

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

The camber designed into our Queensland roads is pretty severe based on the tropical rainfall we experience and necessary run off. My Jeep also pulls left slightly but there are are highways with reverse camber where the car will pull right slightly.

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Hi All,
I got my wheel alignment re-calibrated today in SPORT mode. The initial front toe measurements (report in mm rather than angle) were way out. Toe measurements are now close to +0.5mm left and right which equates to 0deg 03', or 0.05deg, total toe 0.1deg that looks to be just in in range.
I'll report on any changes to road noise, however there is a full one degree of caster inconsistency causing a more noticable pull to the left. I am told the caster cannot be changed as there is no eccentric adjustment at the front end. I would be very suprised if caster is fixed in position. My caster reads +5deg 11' left and +6deg 10' right which based on the crypton pdf would explain the urge to pull from the higher reading towards the lower reading (right pulls to left). My Front camber is -56' left and 47' right. Any ideas on caster adjustment?

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

This is an extremely valuable thread. It should be a sticky. I knew it there somewhere but it took me forever to find it. For completeness I'll add that recent TSB to amend the RHD camber http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0200414.pdf . Note how it specifies the setting at Aero Mode.

It's published by Hunter Engineering in terms of how to adjust in general. I don't think it's specific for JGC?

Would like to have full specs of wheel alignment settings specific for 2014 JGC, similar to TSB which only has camber setting w/o toe and caster settings.

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Before Wheel alignment, air suspension is set to aero mode, do you then leave at ACCC, engine running or switch off?

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Got my Grand back from the guy that was to do the wheel alignment. He didn't do it because the camber on the front right was beyond adjustment. It was -1.5 whereas it should have been -0.25. The wheel must have got quite a bump somewhere along the line, at the Jeep Jambo is my guess. He couldn't find any obvious damage so perhaps the body got a bit twisted. I never noticed it before but the negative camber is quite obvious looking from the front. Looking back the SVM Artarmon wheel alignment report at the 10,000km service, it was quite evident back then. I don't recall them making a fuss over it but they charged me $47.50 regardless. I'm going to take it to a body shop to see if they can do something. The take away here is that the WK2s may not be as strong as we like to think.

I know select wheel alignment in Uconnect which brings suspension to aero mode. The question is does engine start switch shall be at ACC, or on through out the alignment process?

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

If you lock the air susp at aero mode then turn off the engine, that is where it will stay until you either unlock the air susp or drive over 8 km/hr.
