Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

I'll get a price to have the alignment on mine read. If it's reasonably economical, maybe a decent benchmark could be derived from collating data from a few people who have well mannered WK2s?

It's hard to believe that the data isn't already out there somewhere though...

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Why not try the specs in the new TSB that effects RHD vehicles?

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

It's not really a complete alignment data set in the TSB Swampy. The Factory Service Manual data which has been posted could fill in the gaps... though it seems to have errors, so I wonder how much you could trust it?

I think that comparison between a few "good" vehicles and these data sources would probably produce a dependable range of settings. It'd at least help eliminate the dud ones!

Cheers,
Steve

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Fair point

The pull to the left for our MY12 had always been a big prob for us. Dealer wheel alignment didn't fix it. We took it to Wilkinson Suspension, showed them the data that we found on the internet, to which they had no interest.

They just said to leave with them as they had done plenty of the WK2's. Guess what. It is all but fixed. Maybe not 100% but certainly one hell of a lot better. They said it is impossible to get it perfect as the car will always have a LHD bias with weight distribution etc.

Anyway, am now happy.

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

My first wheel alignment was done by the dealer so one would expect the targets to be Jeep specs but I wouldn't trust them as far as I could through them. They are fairly close to the ones posted buy fnkychjkn above:

Front

Caster +4.00(+-0.45)
Camber L&R -0.25(+-0.45) [this was before the TSB for RHD vehicles]
Cross Camber 0.50
Individual Toe L&R +0.13(-0.12+0.13)
Total Toe +0.25(+-0.25)

Rear
Camber L&R -0.25(+-0.25)
Cross Camber 0.50
Individual Toe L&R +0.13(-0.12+0.13)
Total Toe +0.25(+-0.25)

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

I had mine originally done but the dealer. Found at they sublet wheel alignments to the tyre guy across the road. I doubt they gave him the specs. It certainly didn't fix it.

Yes! "+-" meaning plus or minus. I should have added that my vehicle has quadralift.

Re: Wheel Alignment Specs JGC with Quadralift

Here's spec sourced from my dealer, quadra lift. But I don't know whether it's specific for JGC. It could well be generic.

Front: caster, left/right: 3"3' to 4"3'; camber, left/right: -0"45 'to 0"15'; toe, left/right: 0 to 3.1mm

Rear: camber, left/right: -0"3' to 0"0', toe, left/right: 0 to 3.1mm
