Wheel offset???

Can someone explain the correct offset for a wheel to the cherokee? I'm looking for 18 inch rims but wondering about the offsets.

Re: Wheel offset???

+56 is the stock offset. You can push the wheel outward using less offset ie. +35, +25, +18 depending on your tire selection. I have read a lot comments regarding ideal offset for 20"x9" rims, but I haven't seen much regarding 18" diameter rims.
I am also looking to install 18" rims and would like to hear from those that have them. I have lifted my ride 1.75 to accommodate larger tires but haven't finalized the wheel or tire choice. Does anyone have anything close to a 285/60-18 on a +18 or +20mm offset rim? Any rubbing? 285/60s-18 should be about 31.5" tall. Most discussions I've seen are for 33" tires. Any experience or guidance on this combo will be appreciated.

Re: Wheel offset???

Thanks Carmstrong33.

I interpret that the +25 is probably good set up in general for a 9" wide rim. I am favoring a wheel with a +18 offset. The BFG KO2 I want (285/60-18) should be at least a half inch shorter radially speaking than the 32" + diameter folks are discussing, but 10mm wider than the 275 series most are sticking on their 20s.

My 1.75" lift should mitigate rubbing, but if not I believe contact will be very minor.

Thanks again for passing it forward.
