wheel offset / backspacing question

i'm trying to order a set of wheels, but wondering which would fit the best. i just have a laredo with the stock suspension for now. ideally i want them to fit and not stick out too incredibly far

so which would fit best with a 265/65/18? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd setup?
    • Wheel Size: 18x9
    • 5 on 5 Bolt Battern
    • Offset: 1
    • Backspace: 5

    • Wheel Size: 18x9
    • 5 on 5 Bolt Battern
    • Offset: 14
    • Backspace: 5.5

    • Wheel Size: 18x9
    • 5 on 5 Bolt Battern
    • Offset: 20
    • Backspace: 5.75

thanks for your help! here's what they're going on

Subscribing to the thread

I had asked the same question a while back and this is what I had got

+34 to +55 will keep you at stock offsets

It would be great to know how much either of these 3 settings make them stick out.

Re: wheel offset / backspacing question

I had 17x8's put on with a 265 tire on my 2013 wk2 with a 5.88" backspacing. I think anything over 5 you will be safe with. the lower backspacing will push the rim out further though so not sure what type of look you're going for. Good luck and post pics once you decide!

Re: wheel offset / backspacing question

i'm going to go with the +14 or +20, just not 100% sure yet. anyone? i want them to stick out past stock offset and fenders, but obviously not too much. +14 will stick out more, right?

Mine are +12 and perfect. They stick out a good amount and give that rugged look to the Jeep. Yea the lower the number the more they will show past your fender.

Re: wheel offset / backspacing question

Go with the +20 offset. That pushes the wheel and tire out 36mm further, almost 1.5" more per side. If you can find something in the +25 or +30 range it would be better, especially for stock ride height. This pic is of +25 offset with a 285/60/18 tire.

+18 wheels will stick out an additional 1.5". That's quite a lot and will throw dirt, mud & stones down the sides of the veh.
Stock is +56.4mm. The max I would go is +30 unless your going for the monster truck look. lol
