Wheel shake with low-profile tires

I recently bought the 20inch SRT 5 spoke reps from a guy on craigslist and they had low-profile tires already mounted. The front have 255/45 directional tires and the rear are 285/40 asymmetrical tires. Front are 9 inches wide and the rear are 10.

Over about 75 I get a real bad shake on the steering wheel and the passenger seat vibrates loudly. They were recently balanced and one of the front rims apparently was bent, so I replaced it and still get the shake.

Is anyone else running lower profile tires like this and get shake? It is very frustrating especially because the front tires are basically brand new and the rear are in good shape as well. Would it be worth getting them road force balanced? I know theres been a lot of talk about wheel shake mainly with the stock wheels and tires, but these are aftermarket and I can't take them to the dealer to get replaced.

Thanks.

Get them rebalanced

Also make sure that they check if there are no dents in the rim.

I've had a dent before that needed to be replaced or it will suck driving.

Re: Wheel shake with low-profile tires

'Just as an aside, make sure the diameter of your fronts and rears are the same if you have 4x4... You cannot vary that with the JGC.

Re: Wheel shake with low-profile tires

Both tires are 29 inches in diameter.

I just balanced the front, but I could go back and get them road force balanced and see if that takes care of anything. Replacing the bent wheel has helped, but its still not perfect, far from a smooth ride I would expect.

Re: Wheel shake with low-profile tires

'Wonder if that's one reason they were offered for sale...perhaps there is something amiss with the wheels, tires or the combination.
