Ive seen these threads in other forums, but haven't found one here. I'd like to start a thread for everyone to post their wheels. Aftermarket, replicas, whatever. I, like many others, may be looking for a new set of wheels and would love to see what people have.
If you decide to participate, please post size, offset or any pertinent details.
Love that look. I ordered 1.25" spacers and will be keeping my Fortera's for now I think. I wanted to go up to 275's, but I'm trying not to mod the hell out of my HA like I have with my Wranglers. And now that I'm not going off road hardly at all anymore, I still want the best riding vehicle I can get while looking great for my long travel trips. Tired of losing money on mods that are not easy to take off. I think the spacers make it look really good.
I really started liking the SRT8 wheels more and more. At first I felt they may be so close to my current style, so why do it? But the more I look at em (they really look good on yours, neilboy) the more I like them. But I think I'm going to stay with a 20" size. They are similar, in that they are a 5 spoke, but have a much more aggressive look to them, imo
20x9 SRT8 Reps from Factory Reproductions (with black gorilla lugs).
Tires are stock. Only had ~7k miles on the tires when I got these rims - so opted to keep them. May go a bit bigger to fill the wheel well when they wear down.
I do like scooters set up,have the option to buy a set of SRT8 rims and tires from a buddy, does it affect the ride quality any compared to the standard 18" set up? Never been in an SRT so excuse my ignorance, but do like the stance it gives the JGC.
I ended up ordering a set of the 20x10 " black SRT reps with the +47 offset as I need them in this size to clear my Brembos...I really don't need them but as mentioned I have a set of pirelli Pzero 295/45/20" tires that need a home
I just want to see what they look like on my jeep
I want to use my current tires to save $$. Was a little worried that a 10" wheel would make the tires looked "stretched" a bit since my stock wheels are only 8" wide.
Man, you could open up a small wheel store with your collection
I'm looking to put either the 20x9 black chrome SRT replicas on or the 18" replicas. Both have a +34 offset and what I have on now are the factory 5 spoke 18" with a 56 offset. If I'm not mistaken the +34 with no spacer would be equal to the 56 with a 1.5" spacer? Anyone know for sure?
yeah, i wouldnt think the width would matter with or without the brembos. height, yes. in any case, i am going with the hyper silver srt reps 20x10, then 295/45/20 maxxis marauder II tires; end of next week. love the array of wheels you (ajag) got. i like the srt reps, regardless of finish.
After doing more research, I was looking into a set of SRT Spider Monkey reps. I spoke with someone at Discount Tire and the reps we were looking at did not meet the load rating of my '15 Altitude. The reps we looked at were rated at 1800 lbs. The rear axle load on my Jeep is: 1850 lbs. This number was found by looking at the sticker on the inside if the driver's door and dividing by 2. The front GAWR is 3200 lbs and the rear is 3700 lbs. My GVWR is 6500 lbs.
Did some more checking, and it turns out, other reps, from different vendors, were below the minimum as well.
I know it may not be that much of a difference for some to worry about but I'm just posting up my findings to be helpful.
I'm going to end up going with a set of 5-spoke SRT8 reps, as they are rated at 2000 lbs.
interesting. i just got spider monkeys (reps) delivered. they are in a hyper silver finish. well, i'm in a diesel, which i know is heavier than the 3.6, 5.7, so gonna just keep an eye on wheels a little more closely. tires are going to be ordered next week. hopefully by mid may i will have all my parts installed and will be ready for my build specs, pics and helpful info i have encountered along the way.
All of the vendors, eBay, or on-line, say they meet or exceed factory specs, but when I called and asked for the wheel load rating (shown or stamped on the back of the wheels) they were under. Most times they were stamped in kilograms. As an example, there is a seller on eBay that read the number back to me: 815 kg (1796.77 lbs) still doesn't meet the minimum.
2014 SRT I sold last year...miss that thing! Pics are of kind dark, sorry. These pics show a 1.8" front / 2.8" rear drop, which was too low. I ended up going to 1.8" drop in the rear after these pics were taken and it was perfect.
