Re: Which style wheel to choose?

What style or what finish?

Personally I don't like the machined look so id go with the Gloss Black.
If there was a simple silver finish that would look good too.

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

Thanks MOFSteel. The pic you sent with the black rims does look nice. Both company's rims are TUV and VIA certified FWIW. I do like the Gloss Black, not a fan of Matte Black. Its a big purchase that I want to make sure I get as right as possible. For awhile there I had other people buy clothes for me as the clothes I bought ended up only getting worn on Halloween.

So I am a bit skittish

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

I ordered the Hyper Silver. I liked the gloss black but in looking at the pictures I just thought the gloss black was too black and did not allow the detail of the spider monkey rims to show. I like the detail of those rims and wanted it to be more visible. Like a nice hardwood floor

I've heard this about black wheels in the past.
My question is if you think the detail isn't shown with black and that's important to you then why did you buy a black car?

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

Hmmm, well if you must know the truth, I don't know! There I said it.

Actually when looking for cars I was looking for black, the dark grey and the silver. I forget what they are called in Jeepspeak. I could not find many dark grey's, I almost bought a silver, but ended up in black. I think the black rims would be a great on the grey or silver, and probably black too.

Should look nice either way. Post up pics when you get them mounted.

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

Not sure which tires yet. I need something good in the snow as I go skiing a lot. But don't want noisy on the highway. Also not sure if I will stick with 265/50r20

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

Hi attitude, for some reason I got a message that you were asking who were the companies of the tires in the pictures.

The first two with the machined look are from OE Wheels, out of Florida. The next two are from Top Custom Wheels from CA. It looks like OE Wheels are a manufacturer and Top Custom is a reseller. The ones from Top Custom seem to be the same as OE Creations, which a lot of tire places sell (NTB and more).

Ajag I believe also purchased from Top Custom as well.

Rob,

You looking for ALL SEASON? I've always used the Fortera HL's on my SUV's for the New England Winters...including the 2015 Durango we have now ...and they perform very well all around...good in every category and good in the New England winters ...but they don't make them only in 265/50/20 I think (that's what I have on my Durango)

Personally...since you got a nice rim I'd go with a fatter tire like the 285/295 width...looks much more aggressive than the 265's

so far I've tried 265's/305's/295's and now 285's ...i'd at least go with a 285/45/20 though

Even better though is the 295/45/20...fits fine with no rubbing on your jeep

Re: Which style wheel to choose?

I am looking at the 285/50r20. MOFSteel runs those without rubbing. What about spare tire? that will still be whatever the stock 18" is?
