I really want these rims on my Overland but Can't find the specs or if they will fit. Which probably means my dealer can't just order them in either but I have to try.
It is the rims that are on the Wrangler Call Of Duty
It seems like they used them on the off road show jeep with a different finish.
those call of duty rims are just painted a different color. find some silver ones and have them painted. The silver ones are very cheap. What is the offset of those JK wheels anyway?
How durable will these be in winter? Is there a paint that can be used that is super durable? I am planing on using them as winter. I am hoping the extra rubber will keep more sand / salt off the rim. I want to be able to get an aggressive winter tire.
I also would like to know if there is an aggressive winter that would be decent to do some light off-roading in the summer?
There's some stuff called DuraCoat, popular for painting/camo-ing rifles and such, and if you can heat-cure the parts it's as tough as anything I've seen. Let's see, one 18" wheel should fit in yr oven. . . better ask the co-pilot first though!
get them powdercoated and they will be as durable as you treat them. No wheel or finish can stand up to ALL abuse. I would just paint them as that is the cheapest to do...and the cheapest to be fixed. I had my black wheels ceramicoated and they look perfect through the winter here.
they are the right bolt pattern (5x5) but the offset is way off though. they will fit but I believe you will need spacers and they will stick out a bit.
These wheels are more commonly known as Moabs and they comes on all Wrangler Rubicons. Since a good percentage of JK owners have aftermarket wheels there are always new takeoffs available. Like Scott said they are just painted a different color to make them COD. If you check prices for new ones they charge a lot more for the COD ones. It would be much cheaper to get silver ones and paint them or powdercoat them.
I am not liking that they will stick out. I don't want salt and sand being thrown all down the side of the jeep. Bummer. Looks like I will have to keep looking.
stock WK2 18" wheels are 56mm offset on 18x8 wheel with 265 60 18 tires
I used the stock 18" wheel from the JK Sahara. 45mm offset on 18x7.5 wheel w/ 255 70 18 tires.
Bolted right up. Look pretty good. I think they stick out about .2" more... can't really tell. the 255 tires is a bit narrower than the 265. I'll probably put some meatier 275 65 18 tires on when these wear out. I think a 32" All-Terrain tire is what Jeep should have put on the WK2 from the start.
