i wouldn't worry about the sensors, not worth the hassle

wheels with no sensor just makes the light blink a few times at start up, then stays lit, it's pretty small so it's not distracting, and there's no chimes...

You don't NEED the sensors, but the warning light will remain lit.

I went ahead and got the sensors.

Re: Winter Tires & Rims?

Be smart and install the sensors in case you forget to periodically check the pressure.

Amen to this. I got in the car this morning walking by the deflating tire not even noticing how low it was. Got in drove 5 meters and the tire pressure alarm went off.... Nail in tire.

Can the sensors be installed on any aftermarket rim, or do they need to be jeep specific rims for our trucks?

They can be put on any rims. It just a sensor on the air valve.

Problem in a few years will be that the air valves on the rims need to be replaced, then you need to buy new sensors. But that takes a few years

Do we need to buy the sensors from our Jeep dealer, or are there aftermarket ones that will work?

There's aftermarket. IIRC, the ones from the Tire Rack cost something like $40 each... if you buy the wheels and tires from them, they'll install the sensors for free (they don't carry Mopar rims though).

The only issue I had is that the TR installed one of my sensors incorrectly and the thing broke in a few short miles. I had the dealer replace it and Tire Rack refunded me the cost of the sensor (which was less than the $100 the dealer charged me to do it, but I was on the way to the dealer when it happened so I just dealt with it there).

Thanks. I'll try and get aftermarket sensors installed on the rims when I go in and price them out.
Is IIRC a brand name of the sensor? I would like to do some internet research on them and see if I can get them from a couple of suppliers I know.
