Re: Winter Tires - Yokohama Geolanders?

I’ve just replaced my stock 20” rims with the 18” rims with new 265/60/18 Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S. I find the ride much softer and the is no additional road noise. Have done 2000km on the new tyres.
All highway and town driving. The Jeep does looks beter. Will be doing some off roading during the break

Re: Winter Tires - Yokohama Geolanders?

I have driven through many Wisconsin winters with my '99 GC on both Geolander HT and Geolander AT. Both handle the white stuff pretty well. They are by no means "snow tires", but I have never even come close to getting stuck, so I don't know that switching to Blizzaks is really necessary. The performance of the Blizzaks would certainly increase snow/ice capability, but the softer compound would also decrease tread life. You can run the Geolanders year-round without concern for tread life issues.

Yes they are DEFINITELY a smoother ride than the 20's. Im still planning on putting the Summit bling back on next summer. At least by alternating them, both sets will last longer.

I have just over 2000 miles on the Geolanders now and am very satisfied.
